Your PTO welcomes you to the 2017-18 school year! We would like to introduce ourselves. Our names are Leah Krull and Jaime Pollock (co-presidents), Danielle Klopp (vice-president), Laura Sherman (treasurer), and Karen Economopoulos (secretary). And we make up the East Hanover Elementary PTO Board. Between us we have 15 children, 9 of which are currently students at East Hanover. When we aren't volunteering for the PTO or shuttling our children to and fro, we are working as teachers, coaches, nurses, and entrepreneurs. We are very excited and look forward to getting to know you. We have a lot of new things planned and would love your help to make this a successful school year!
The East Hanover Elementary PTO is a non-profit entity with the mission to enhance student growth through parent involvement by providing effective communication and a collaborative effort between faculty, parents, guardians and administration. As a parent, legal guardian or staff member, you are automatically a member of the PTO. There are no dues or requirements for membership. Our first meeting will be held Wednesday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the school library.
In addition to providing a variety of social & family events, our students are afforded many educational programs through the efforts of the PTO. These include school assemblies, bussing for field trips, the science fair, and talent show, etc. PTO funds have also been instrumental in providing classroom supplies, like smart boards for every classroom, iPads, digital cameras and also the new play ground equipment. Additionally, the PTO also offers support to the school and its staff and provides important information to the student's families.
We are able to provide these programs and activities due to the support of our East Hanover families and the efforts of our wonderful volunteers! Please consider volunteering in the classroom, on one of our many committees, or even as an event chair. Every volunteer has a gift to share. The gift of time is most appreciated and the children benefit from having a strong partnership between home and school. With your help, we can enhance the environment in which our children learn and grow.
There are still committees in need of chairs and/or co-chairs. Without volunteers these events are not possible. Please click here to volunteer or our sign up at the PTO Meeting. We look forward to seeing you soon.
