If you are interested in supporting Angie through this time, her church has set up a fund in her name.
Donations can be sent to: Cedar Hill Baptist Church, 154 Chestnut Grove Rd., Dillsburg, PA 17019. Please make checks payable to Cedar Hill Baptist Church and write "Angela Grabuloff Fund" in the memo. Holiday Donation Requests
If you are interested, there are two opportunities this week to support our local community.

(1) Grantville Food Pantry
During the Christmas Around the World celebration, students learned about a special tradition in England where boxes were filled with supplies to the needy. These boxes were opened on December 26 - Boxing Day. Last week during the event, students decorated boxes for the classrooms at East Hanover. We invite you to help us fill the boxes with non-perishable items to be donated to the Grantville Food Panty. Items are due Wednesday, December 20. Please mark items "Grantville Food Pantry."

(2) Lunch Meals Service Project
Several classes at East Hanover will be participating in a service project on Thursday, December 21, making lunch meals to deliver to Wildheart. Wildheart is a non-profit that serves the Allison Hill neighborhood in Harrisburg. This organization will distribute the meals to their neighbors - many who are homeless. The following items are being collected:
  • Water bottles (8 oz.)
  • Apples
  • Granola Bars
  • Carrots
  • Hershey Kisses
  • Sandwich Bread
  • Lunch Meat
  • Small Baggies
  • Gallon Size Baggies

If you are able to donate any of the above items or are interested in volunteering in the classrooms to assist assembling the bags, please contact Jaime Pollock at: jlpollock5@gmail.com. When sending in items for this service project, please mark "Lunch Meals Service Project."

Box Top Contest

Box Tops for the "Let it Snow" Box Top Contest are due Wednesday, December 20. If your child turns in a collection sheet with at least 5 eligible Box Tops on it by the 20th they will be awarded a participation prize. Each child that submits 25 eligible Box Tops will be entered to win a $10 Five Below gift card. One gift card per grade will be awarded. Please check the date on the box top and send in only ones that have not expired.

Clipping, collecting and submitting Box Tops for Education earns our school a substantial amount of financial support each year. Each box top is worth $.10 cash to our school and we appreciate your support!

If you have questions regarding Box Tops or are able to help tally Box Tops, please contact Silent Fundraising Chair, Suzie Hengst at suzie.h1893@gmail.com.

From Mr. M.:
We have been busy as we wrap up the 2017 calendar year! It was great to see so many of you at Parent-Teacher Conferences. I encourage you to contact your student's teacher or myself with any questions as we move forward with the 2nd Trimester.

I would like to congratulate all of the students who participated in the Holiday Concerts. What wonderful performances, enjoyed by all! I would also like to thank our teachers, staff and volunteers who made our Holidays Around the World event a fun and educational success.

We are looking forward to a great spirit week and I wish you and your families safe and happy holidays.
